Then we need YOUR help!

Emerald ash borer was detected for the first time in Vermont in 2018. Early detection of invasive pests mitigates the economic and ecological impact to forests. Learn what you can do to slow the spread of emerald ash borer and other invasive pests!

A FREE training will be held on Saturday, May 18^th at the Grand Isle Fire Station, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  (There will be an optional tree identification walk at 3:00 pm)

We are training concerned citizens to:

• learn about the current status of emerald ash borer and other pests (the Asian longhorned beetle, hemlock wooly adelgid and oak wilt) in Vermont
• identify signs and symptoms
• prepare their communities for a response (emerald ash borer will eventually kill 99% of Vermont’s ash trees)

Registration

This is a free training.  Because of space limitations participants must register by May 10^th.

This workshop will be held indoors, with an optional outdoor tree identification walk at 3:00 pm
